Procyon District

Named for its brights star (at hex-prism 1617.19), the Procyon District contains 30 worlds. Procyon is one of the core districts surrounding Earth which is just one parsec trailward of hex-prism 1620.19. Procyon is home to the capital of the Empire of Aztlán (at hex-prism 0911.20), which maintains commercial operations at most worlds and naval bases at Aztlán, Nuevo California, Cíbola, Cōātlīcue and Sonora. The Commonwealth of Earth also has significant influence in Procyon, with commercial operations on most worlds, as well as naval bases at Kon'-win, Iyeyasu, Aoki and Ysyk‑Köl.
Six worlds in the district are members of the Empire. Seven worlds are members of the Commonwelath while all remaining worlds are nominally independent.
Aztlán, capital of the Empire, is clearly the most important world in the district. The Empire's agricultural worlds Nuevo California and Cíbola and the resource world Sonora are also major trading centers. Major Commonwealth worlds include the resource world Ysyk‑Köl and the agricultural worlds Kon'-win and Iyeyasu. The agricultural world Aterraje is an important independent trading center. The majority of other worlds are agricultural production sites. Total district population is 5.5 billion with over 90% at Aztlán. Total military forces in the district number over 200 million with the bulk at Aztlán.

Aztlán is the capital of the Imperio de Aztlán ("Empire of Aztlán") and the most populous and technologically advanced world in Procyon District. Aztlán dominates trade in Procyon and is the major military power in the district with a military force of 150 million — the largest such force in the Colonies Sphere.

Aztlán is located at the spin-core-upward extremity of Procyon, just one parsec from the upward boundary with neighbouring Pollux District. Due to its location, Aztlán also borders on Alpha Crucis, Muntu and Santa Fe districts.
Aztlán has slightly higher than standard surface gravity (1.1G) and a breathable atmosphere. Its native biosphere has produced advanced fauna. Aztlán's population is in the billions and its social authority is a democratic autarchy. Aztlán has late interstellar stage technological achievement, among the most sophisticated in the Colones Sphere.
Commercial activities at Earth include agricultural production and processing, commercial and financial services, manufacturing (and shipbuilding), and interstellar shipping.
The Aztlán system's star, Huītzilōpōchtli, is a yellow dwarf (G3V).

Kon'-win, a Commonwealth world named for a traditional Dolphin school on Earth, is one of three high-population Commonwealth worlds in Procyon with interstellar stage technological achievement (the others being Iyeyasu and Ysyk‑Köl). Nevertheless, due to its proximity, Kon-'win is more closely linked to the Commonwealth world Prometheus in Pollux District.

Kon'-win is centrally located on the upward boundary of Procyon, just one parsec rim-downward from Prometheus in neighbouring Procyon.
Kon'-win has very high surface gravity (1.6G) — making it difficult for off-worlders to visit the world's surface without an extended period of physical and biochemical adaptation — and a dense, non-breathable atmosphere. Its native biosphere has produced primitive fauna. Kon'-win's population is in the tens of millions and its social authority is a democratic autarchy. Kon'-win has early interstellar stage technological achievement.
Commercial activities at Kon'-win include agricultural production and processing, commercial and financial services, manufacturing and interstellar shipping.
The Kon'-win system's star, Rye Teum'-ess, named for a mythological hunter of the Kon'-win school, is a red dwarf (M4V).
