Worlds (Cybele | Admah | New Canaan | Eurybia) | Map | Commerce
Named for the original name of the world now known as New Canaan, the Gaea District contains 29 worlds. Gaea is one of the core districts surrounding Earth which is just one parsec zenithward of hex-prism 1720.18. From its capital at New Canaan, the Abrahamic Synod enjoys much influence in the district, maintaining commercial operations at most worlds and naval bases at New Canaan and Admah. The Commonwealth of Earth also has significant influence in Gaea, with commercial operations on most worlds, as well as a naval base at Cybele.
Seventeen worlds in the district are members of the Synod. (Three of these worlds — Bethel, Moreh and Ellasar — have substantial Aeroi colonies.) Three worlds are members of the Commonwelath while all remaining worlds are nominally independent.
New Canann is clearly the most important world in the district. The Commonwealth agricultural world Cybele, the Synodical resource world Admah and the independent agricultural world Eurybia are also major trading centers. The majority of other worlds are agricultural producers. Total district population is 4.5 billion with over 95% at New Canaan. Total military forces in the district number over 200 million with the bulk at New Canaan.

New Canaan is located in the central trailward portion of the upward edge of Gaea, just one parsec downward from Capella district.
New Canaan has standard surface gravity (1.0G) and a breathable atmosphere. Its native biosphere has produced advanced fauna. New Canaan's population is in the billions and its social authority is a consensual oligarchy. New Canaan has late interstellar stage technological achievement, among the most sophisticated in the Colones Sphere.
Commercial activities at New Canaan include agricultural production and processing, commercial and financial services, manufacturing (and shipbuilding), and interstellar shipping.
The New Canaan system's primary star, Shuemesch, is a yellow dwarf (G4V).
