Fomalhaut District
(adapted from Melbourne Times #3)
Worlds (Tabora | Nifflheim | Okhotsk | Trabzon | No Cha | Ibadan | Marduk) | Map | Commerce
Named for its brightest star (at hex-prism 2322.22), the Fomalhaut District contains 33 worlds. The highest population is 800 million at Tabora. The highest tech accomplishment is A, also at Tabora.
Fomalhaut is one of the core districts surrounding Earth which is just one parsec to coreward of hex-prism 1721.19. The Commonwealth enjoys much influence in the district, maintaining naval bases at Trabzon and Snowball and scout bases at several other independent worlds. The Ouroran Community is somewhat less influential in Fomalhaut but does maintain scout bases at Ibadan and Nunavut which also hosts a Commonwealth scout base.
Most worlds in the district are independent. Eight worlds are members of the Commonwealth of Earth to coreward in Sirius District. Haseke is a member of the Federation of Nyanza to rim-spin-upward in Nyanza District. (The Commonwealth world Rame is also claimed by the Federation, which refers to it as Kelantan.) A single world, Goias, is a member of the Ouroran Community to rimward in Ourora District.
Tabora and Marduk, which both field their own naval forces, are chief in importance in Fomalhaut. The resource worlds Nifflheim, Trabzon and Ibadan and the "breadbaskets" of Okhotsk and No Cha are also important.

District Worlds table notes:
[α] Hex-prism location, based upon distance — in parsecs — from Earth / Sirius (at location 1720.19), as derived from the "Near Star List" from 2300 AD. (For stars beyond 50 light-years — approximately fifteen parsecs — from Earth / Sirius, the location has been developed specifically for the Earth Colonies campaign and is not expected to align with actual astronomical data.)
[β] World Data Codes for gravitational acceleration (GA), atmosphere breathability (AB), biosphere development (BD), population magnitude (PM), social authority (SA) and technological achievement (TA).
[γ] In most cases, spectral type, luminosity class, and common name (or star catalogue designation) of all stars in system as listed in the "Near Star List" from 2300 AD. Links to additional stellar information provided by the Strasbourg Astronomical Data Center SIMBAD database, the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut ARICNS database and Roger Wilcox's Internet Stellar Database — which also provides a list of stars in the database within a given number of lightyears of a star. (For stars beyond 50 light-years — approximately fifteen parsecs — from Earth / Sirius, the stellar classication data has been developed specifically for the Earth Colonies campaign and is not expected to align with actual astronomical data.)
[δ] Commercial Operations codes: Ag = agricultural production (BD 3+, PM 4+), Ap = agricultural production and processing (BD 3+, PM 7+, TA 9+), Cs = communication services (PM 7+, TA 9+), Fs = financial services (PM 7+, TA 9+), Ma = manufacturing (PM 7+, TA 9+), Re = resources extraction (BD 2-, PM 4+), Rp = resources extraction and processing (BD 2-, PM 7+, TA 9+), Tr = transportation services (PM 7+, TA 9+).
[ε] Military forces codes for Navy base (N), Navy depot (D), Scout base (S) or Scout way station (W). (Allegiance codes in parentheses indicate a military base in an independent system.) Total number (K = x 1000, M = x 1,000,000) of local military forces (planetary and space).
[ζ] Allegiance codes: Ab = Abrahamic Synod, Ae = Aeroi Worlds, Az = Empire of Aztlán, Co = Commonwealth of Earth, He = Realm of Hejaz, In = Independent, Ki = Republic of Kiangsi, Me = Meren Worlds, Ny = Federation of Nyanza, Ou = Ouroran Community, Qu = Quebecer Republic, Ra = Rajasthani Confederacy, Sh = Empire of Shinnihon.
[η] Corresponds to system "Barnard's Star" at position "2026+00" in StarForce.
[θ] Corresponds to the Davout system in 2300 AD and to systems "CD-44 [11909]" at position "1731-11" and "CD-46 [11540]" at position "1830-11" in StarForce.

[ν] Corresponds to system "Luyten 347-14" at position "2433-14" in StarForce.
[ξ] Corresponds to the Chengdu system in 2300 AD and to system "ε Indi" at position "2523-10" in StarForce. (In StarForce, the "ε Indi" system has one or more planets which did not "require 'terraforming' before colonization.")
[ο] Corresponds to the Xiuning system in 2300 AD and to system "CD-49 [13515]" at position "2826-12" in StarForce.
