> Reread "Ministry of Disturbance" this weekend and noticed that a visiting > leader from Durendal to the Imperial Court on Odin was Lord Marshall Koreff, > the real power behind the Durendal throne. Wasn't there somebody named Koreff > (Paul?) among Otto Harkaman's officers on the *Corisande* or maybe Lucas Trask's > on the *Nemesis*? If so, do you suppose this Marshall Koreff is his decendant? Just ran across the reference. Paul Koreff was signals-and-detection officer on the *Nemesis*. The question is, if he's the Lord Marshall's ancestor, how'd he get back from the Old Federation worlds to Durendal? In "Ministry of Disturbance" we learn that the Sword Worlds were eventually incorporated into the Empire, but Trask's "League of Civilized Worlds" are never mentioned. I guess Carr's take on it is that the Empire *is* Trask's "League," perhaps having started at Marduk?
